Preparation time: 20 minutes

Baking time: 25-30 minutes

Cooling time: 10 minutes

Ganache preparation time: 5-10 minutes

Serving Size: Approximately 16 bars, based on cutting them into 4 rows by 4 columns. However, you can adjust the serving size by cutting the bars into smaller or larger pieces, based on your desired portion size.

Note: The cooling time can vary depending on the temperature of your kitchen and the size of the bars.

Ingredients:

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt.

Step 3

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, molasses, and vanilla extract.

Step 4

Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 5

While the bars are baking, prepare the ganache by heating the white OR dark chocolate and heavy cream in a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water. Stir until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the cinnamon powder.

Step 6

Let the bars cool completely in the pan, then spread the ganache evenly on top. Let the ganache set before cutting into bars. Enjoy!
