Summer Fruity Frozen Sangria

Recipe

Prep Time: 15 minutes to overnight

Serving Size: 4-6

Ingredients:

1 Cups Frozen Dragon Fruit – Cubed

2 Cups Frozen Cherries – Whole – Peace Arch Fruit Combo Box A

2 Cups Frozen Peaches – Sliced – West Coast Wild Fresh Peaches

1 750 ML White Wine Bottle – Seaside Winery package 2

1 750 ML Sparkling White Wine – Seaside Winery Sparkling Wine

1/3 Cup Vodka – Ravens Brewing Craft Vodka

1 355 ML Sprite / 7-UP

Directions:

STEP 1

Wash and remove cherry pit while leaving them whole and place in a freezer-safe container with a sealed lid. Set aside.

STEP 2

Peel the soft outer shell of the dragon fruit and cut it into cubes and place them in the same container with the strawberries.

STEP 3

Wash and slice the peaches in half and carefully remove the seed. You can peel the velvety skin or keep it intact, depending on your preference. Once the seed is removed, cut the halves into slices and place them in the same container as above.

STEP 4

Carefully open and pour the white wine into the freezer-safe container with the fruits—seal container with the spill-proof lid. Let freeze overnight as the white wine will not completely freeze due to the alcohol content.

STEP 6

Remove from freezer when ready to serve as it will start defrosting and melt. Break apart the fruits as they would freeze together and place them into a large blender unit.

STEP 7

Once the frozen fruits are in the blender, add the rest of the frozen wine to the container. Next, add vodka and half of the soda.

STEP 8

Pulse to mix and blend until smooth. Serve in a large wine glass, top with sparkling wine and fresh fruit!

Recipe Notes:

You can make fruity frozen sangria slushy with in-season, ripe fruits that can be anything you have on hand! Tart fruit and mixed berries go best with red wine and swap out the vodka for brandy for a deep earthy adult drink on a lovely hot summer afternoon. With this frozen cocktail, you can make it easier by using already frozen fruit and simply adding all ingredients to a blender and blending until smooth and serve.
